Personal Finance According to Video Games

Most people either justify video games as “entertainment” or vilify them as “time-wasters.” With a few exceptions (the Wii can actually help you become physically fit) they are almost never thought of as a tool for learning useful life skills. And yet even in those games that are not labeled as educational, where the game play consists primarily of blowing your enemy to bits, it is possible to learn some things that are useful in personal finance, often without even realizing it. Plan well, conserve your resources, and form alliances — these things come up regularly and are just the start of what video games can teach you about personal finance:
World of Warcraft
jaunpol
Beyond the fact that spending time at home playing WoW is more cost-effective than going out to bars, clubs and pubs, there are several legitimate lessons to be learned, applicable for both the business world and for personal finance. For one, players don’t level-up without paying their dues, much like in business, where it is also important to forge lasting relationships (alliances). Secondly, it teaches one the value of money (gold), how much time and hard work can go into earning it, and what it takes to manage it — purchase of X precludes or may limit the purchase of Y. Also, in WoW it becomes easier to earn gold as you progress; just as should be the case with the real world, the harder you work at something (play the game), the higher the return you receive.
What did we learn?
Staying-in is the new going-out. People are beating the recession by substituting their world of wasteful spending, with the World of Warcraft. A month long subscription to World of Warcraft can cost less than $0.50 cents per day, which otherwise wouldn’t even cover the cost of a parking meter during a night out on the town. Get creative with your free time. The potential savings are enormous.
The Oregon Trail

playfullibrarian
Although we probably didn’t realize it at the time, The Oregon Trail provided us one of our very first lessons in the importance of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This “educational computer game” was built to simulate the struggles of a 19th century family as they traveled vast distances in hopes of fulfilling their vision of Manifest Destiny. But the game was unusually difficult for some children to grasp. With very little room for error, The Oregon Trail took ill-prepared pioneers on a journey that would inevitably end in famine, infectious disease, and a long list of equally horrifying scenarios. Not only was The Oregon Trail a game, it was a harsh lesson in the unpredictable nature of life.
What did we learn?
When it comes to personal finances, always hope for the best but prepare for the worst. In a world filled with unexpected downsizings, enormous layoffs, and more competition for few jobs than ever before, preparing for the worst is no longer an option. It’s a responsibility. Create a budget, keep track of your expenses, look for unique ways to save, and do whatever it takes to reach your own financial (manifest) destiny.
Sonic the Hedgehog

nickstone333
At a time when the gaming world was in dire need of a new hero to lead them into the next era of consoles, Sonic the Hedgehog made his grand entrance onto the scene as a flagship title for the Sega Genesis. The Genesis console was SEGA’s first legitimate attempt at proving that they had a brand and a product that was worthy of stepping into the ring with the undisputed heavyweight champion of gaming, Nintendo. And just like that, one of the fiercest console wars in video game history was born. Almost immediately, the world was hooked on Sonic’s distinctive look and radically different spin on Nintendo’s weary approach. One of Sonic’s best tricks was also one of his most unique. Instead of dying like most other characters would, Sonic would first lose all of the golden rings you had collected up to that point. Although it worked out in Sonic’s advantage most of the time, it’s never nice to know that everything you’ve ever worked for is constantly at risk.
What did we learn?
Sometimes the best offense is a good defense. Protect your assets at all costs and don’t be afraid to pull out all the stops when it comes to securing your identity. There are services and agencies which specialize in protecting against cyber-related crimes, and many have developed a flawless reputation for doing so. And if that’s asking too much, at least do a quick search for easy ways to protect yourself from becoming another statistic of identity theft. And, at the very least, make sure you don’t carry all your rings around in your pockets — you could lose them.
Grand Theft Auto IV

DeclanTM
When they weren’t busy revolutionizing the gaming industry with groundbreaking new titles, single handedly prompting immediately legislative reform, and exchanging blows with some of Washington’s most influential politicians, the team behind The Grand Theft Auto series taught us that there are only two types of debt-collectors in the world: Those who use a telephone, and those who prefer to take things into their own hands. But as anyone who’s ever been on the wrong side of debt will tell you, actions don’t always speak louder than words.
What did we learn?
Armed with a telephone, a condescending attitude, and the uncanny ability to wake you up early on your only day-off, debt collectors seem to find meaning in making your life hell. If you’re already in debt, the worst possible thing you can do is ignore it. Not only will it be detrimental to your blood pressure, it’s also a good way to ruin your credit for life. Take small steps in connecting with your debt-collectors. You might be surprised how flexible they’re willing to be.
Madden NFL 10

Wikimedia Commons (Madden with friend)
While scouring Madden NFL 10’s labyrinth of leaderboards, stats, financial data, and revenue generators, two things become blatantly obvious. Number One: Terrell Owens might be the most overpriced player in football. And, Number Two: there’s no good reason why we all can’t have detailed breakdowns of our salaries, expenses, personal finances in an easily digestible format. Madden’s Franchise mode allows you to take control of any team in the NFL, which gives you access to data on player salaries, revenue generation, and fund distribution. In other words, it’s like the ultimate digital checkbook you’ll probably never have.
What did we learn?
Luckily, you don’t have to be a professional athlete to keep track of your finances. Websites like Mint.com are simple enough to be used by anybody and give you an at-a-glance overview of all of your income and spending. It’s all about the data. Further, mobile apps like Mint.com’s iPhone app have made it possible to track your expenses down to the penny while on the go, all in a sleek, detailed, and easily accessible format.
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial

Let’s face it – video games aren’t cheap. In fact, they never have been cheap and you shouldn’t expect that to change anytime soon. To make matters worse, nearly all video games are sold at the exact same retail purchase price regardless of quality. You’ll fork out the same amount of money whether you’re purchasing the best game ever created, or a heaping pile of dung. That’s where E.T. The Extra Terrestrial comes into play, considered to be the absolute worst game of all time. The game was marketed as the next big thing in gaming, but did little to impress. The game was plagued by rushed deadlines, which caused the developers to release an effectively incomplete game. Before the internet and video game critics came to be, we were left to believe what the marketers told us about their products and not much else.
What did we learn?
Whether you’re purchasing a new car or a loaf of bread, take time to think out the purchases that you make. Sadly, the days of impulse buying are gone for a large percentage of us. Be skeptical of the hype surrounding new trends and gadgets, and make sure you know what you’re getting into when you pull out that credit card. An educated consumer is a powerful consumer. Take advantage of information and product reviews readily available online – take advantage of what consumers didn’t have access to 25 years ago.
Counter Strike

Pal Berge
Counter Strike has long been one of the more successful first person shooters of all time. Long after its release, it continues to be one of the most popular games played worldwide. But upon closer look, it’s noteworthy just how relevant Counter Strike is to personal finance. The game gives each player a budget to start out with in each game. At the beginning of each round, this budget is used to purchase better weapons and upgrades, which subsequently increase your chances of success.
What did we learn?
Strategic financial planning can yield big rewards both in the game of Counter Strike and in life. Sure, you could spend your entire budget in the very first round and see marginal results. But, the players who can manage their budget to withstand the test of time, are often the players who end up with the best weapons at their disposal in the final rounds.
The Sims

CLF
They say art imitates life, and perhaps there’s no truer application to this saying than The Sims… the game that simulates real life. The Sims is an example of how one man took a concept so simple, yet so necessary in today’s culture, that it would eventually sell more copies than the population of some small countries. The Sims went on to become the highest selling PC game of all time, and the rest is history. The game was responsible for showing us just how satisfying it can feel to take a blank canvas, help it grow, and then watch it flourish into a masterpiece. Through hard work, patience, and a little financial ingenuity, The Sims taught us all sorts of life lessons.
What did we learn?
Success and failure in The Sims can be closely compared to the successes and failures of your everyday life. Much like the real world, The Sims rarely rewards laziness. So unless you’re banking on winning the lottery, realize that the financial world revolves around hard-working, diligent, and goal driven individuals.
Dungeons & Dragons Online

Ramon Cahenzil
One of the very first forms of geek-culture to infect the mainstream was Dungeons & Dragons, which is a role-playing game that was played by rolling dice, cards, and whole lot of imagination. Thankfully, technology has provided us with a less shameful and more anonymous way of living the D&D lifestyle. Much like World of Warcraft, Dungeons & Dragons Online is an ever-evolving world that gives you the ability to conquer things much bigger than yourself. What many people don’t realize is that D&D Online features a deep-rooted entrepreneurial driven economy, with players using their skills, talents, and products as a means for virtual financial success.
What did we learn?
A trip to one of the many auction houses in D&D Online can allow you to walk away with some killer deals. When wholesalers and consumers directly connect, both parties can benefit greatly from the absence of a “middle man”. A real-world example of this concept can be found on Ebay, Craigslist and many other online services that facilitate and encourage the connection between wholesalers and consumers.

Rich Dad - the CASHFLOW Clubs.

* Hi, I'm Robert Kiyosaki
* and this is Kim Kiyosaki.
* Welcome to the CASHFLOW Clubs.
* Personally I think it's a great investment of Your time.
* It's best to invest in Your mind before
* You invest Your money into stock market or any market.
* Because ultimately is Your financial IQ that makes money.
* I want to talk about how we developed this game.
* Back in 1994 Kim and I retired.
* We had enough money coming in.
* We were out of the Rat Race.
* We had nothing else to do.
* I was 47, she was 37.
* - We had a lot of people coming to us and say:
* How did You retired? How did You do it?
* We were going around teaching people how we did it
* and we sayd - there must be a better way.
* - In 1994 we started to develop this game.
* One for financial education.
* One to share what my Rich Dad teached me.
* But more importantly we saw this financial crisis coming where we are right now.
* And the way to out of this financial mess is not to hope that someone will save You.
* The best way out of this mess is to change yourself, save yourself.
* But change yourself and don't expect economy to change.
* - We created the game because it was also a way
* where people could actually teach another people
* and it's done in a fun environment.
* The CASHFLOW Clubs, which we would like You to come and participate in,
* it's a place where like minded people come together to learn,
* to mentor each other, to learn together, to grow together and it's a create environment.
* If that's what You want, the I would recommend to come into these clubs
* and really learn expand Your financial IQ.
* - We have CASHFLOW 101 and this is CASHFLOW 202.
* When we first developed the board game they were one game,
* combined 101 and 202.
* It was really too difficult, so we had to break it up to 101 and 202.
* One of the benefits coming to the club and going through the 10 steps
* is that You have to learn 101 and 202.
* Not only that, You go online and challenge other people throughout the world.
* That is the real world.
* That's why we recommend introduction to the CASHFLOW clubs,
* but also check it out, 10 times.
* I hear so many people who say: I played Your game once.
* Well You don't learn the game of golf by playing it once.
* You know - practice, practice, practice.
* It's people teaching people, sharing information.
* That's why we designed this game.
* - Another reason to play the game over and over is,
* because Your financial situation changes
* from week to week, month to month as ours does.
* When You are playing the game You are going to see new things every time,
* plus the people You are playing with.
* Watching their behavior, what they are doing and how they are playing the game
* also will have impact on Your learning.
* So again, it's a great place to learn.
* What a lot of people don't know is that
* the CASHFLOW game was the first product that we created for the Rich Dad Company.
* This is were we started because
* we thought this was information that people really needed and wanted.
* Our mission from day one is very simply
* to have people play that CASHFLOW game because we see lives transformed.
* - It's people teaching people. We don't sell investments.
* I know a lot of people use the CASHFLOW game as a lead generator
* to sell You their real estate deal, stock deal, mutual fond deal.
* That's not what we do.
* Our primary motive is financial education
* so that You can make sounder financial investments
* by knowing what's good advice and what's bad advice.
* Because it's not one shoot fits all.
* Sometimes what's good advice for me may be bad for You.
* Please remember Rich Dad Company is purely financial education.
* That's what we are here to do.
* - We want just encourage You to come and attend a CASHFLOW Club,
* play the game, be around like minded people.
* - At least 10 times.
* - At least 10 times and be around people who want to improve their financial lives.
* That's all we are about.

More Incentives Don't Lead to Better Performance

More Incentives Don't Lead to Better Performance

Career analyst Dan Pink examines the puzzle of motivation, starting with a fact that social scientists know but most managers don't: Traditional rewards aren't always as effective as we think. The interesting findings he presented,

As long as the task involved only mechanical skills, bonuses worked as they would be expected; the higher the pay, the better the performance. But once the task called for "even rudimentary cognitive skill," a larger reward "led to poorer performance.

Executives and business decision-makers love to see the trends and catch the trends, use trends to guide their decisions. This post would introduce 10 handy trend tools which are very helpful doing online research.

1. Google Trends – Google Search Trends
2. adCenter Search Volume Seasonality Trends
3. adCenter Keyword Forecast
4. Facebook Lexicon – Facebook Social Trends
5. Twist – Trends in Twitter
6. Trendpedia – Blog Trends
7. BlogPulse from Nielsen – Another Blog Trends Tool
8. Trendrr – Trends across Social Graphs and Networks
9. Google Checkout Trends – Online Sales Trends
10. Indeed Job Trends Tool

1. Google Trends – Google Search Trends

Google Trends

With Google Trends, you can compare up to 5 topics you are interested in and see how often they’ve been searched on Google over a period of time. It also shows how frequently your topics have appeared in Google News stories, and regions where they are searched for.

What can you do with Google Trends

Very common use with Google Trends is in search engine marketing and search engine optimization (SEO). Check out the search trends. you may not be interested in your company’s search operations, but Google Trends is a good tool to show you the trends of online users’ interests on a specific topic.

How to Use Google Trends

Google has one page giving detailed information about Google Trends. This is what you need to know to use it:

* news-reference-volume graph is just below the search-volume graph, which shows you the no. of times your topic appeared in Google News stories. When Google Trends detects a spike in the volume of news stories for a particular term,
* Google Trends labels the graph and displays the headline of an auto-selected Google News story written near the time of a spike it detects in the volume of news stories for a particular term.
* Only English headlines are displayed so far.
* Google Trends displays the top cities, regions, and languages in which people searched for the first term you entered. You can select the one you are most interested in; but, keep in mind it might the data might not be enough to show if the search volume is too low in a specific region.
* Use comma to separate up to 5 different topics to compare e.g. “internet, online”
* To see how many searches contained either terms, separate those terms with a vertical bar: “|”. For example, to determine how many searches contained the terms “internet” or “online,” just enter “internet | online”
* You can use parentheses for multi-word terms.
* You can use the minus sign to exclude terms. e.g. you want to see the trends for “marketing” but not “email marketing”, search “marketing-email”

More on Google Trends:

* Mothers Day + Google Trends = Cash
* Using Google Trends to fine-tune your news website
* Daily Google Hot Trends (US only)

2. adCenter Search Volume Seasonality Trends

seasonality forecast

It’s a tool from Microsoft adCenter Labs; you see see the trends and forecast seasonality patterns of search queries. As shown above, you can see the actual (red), forecast (blue), and Conf Interval.

It’s kinda similar to Google Trends tool; however, the queries you can check is quite limited, you input a keyword and if available, this tool would show you one or a few terms you can forecast the seasonality.
3. adCenter Keyword Forecast – Forecast the impression count and demographic predictions

keywords forecast

Keyword Forecast is another tool from Microsoft adCenter Labs that forecasts the search volume and demographic predictions of your selected list of keywords. The difference from the above mentioned keyword forecast tool is, this one shows the actual search volume trends only and enables you to compare different terms.

Simply enter the keywords separated by semi-colons to try out. You can product the output in flash, image, or text format. The demographic predictions graph is quite interesting and helpful:

demographic predictions
4. Facebook Lexicon: Facebook Social Trends

facebook lexicon

I introduced Facebook’s trends tool Lexicon days ago. You can refer to that post for details. ReadWriteWeb and MarketingPilgrim both have a good introduction to Lexicon that you can digest. Someone set up a Facebook Lexicon Blog too which does a lot of trends comparison.

In general, Facebook Lexicon is a nice tool to track Facebook communities’ interests.
5. Twist – Trends in Twitter

twitter trends

I’ve been using Twitter for a while though I don’t tweet a lot. But surprisingly, I recently found many local Singapore companies trying out this tool. If you still don’t have an idea what it is, its own introduction is quite self-explainable:

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? Bloggers can use it as a mini-blogging tool.

Twist is a tool that enables you to see the trends in Twitter. It checks mentions of the queried terms in Twitters’ messages and show the graph over time.
6. Trendpedia – Blog Trends Search

trendpedia screenshot

With Trendpedia, you can find out the trends by searching blogs in various languages (sad, no Chinese, why?).

Trendpedia finds the articles online that talk about your topics. Trendpedia organizes the articles in a trendline that shows the popularity of the topic over time — you can track a topic’s trendline from three months ago up to today.

Trendline is the number of blog posts posted per day that talk about the trends you search.

How To Use Trendpedia

* Enter one or more topics to search trends; Trendpedia’s line chart shows the popularity of the topics over time. Click on the chart to visit blog entries from a particular day.
* You can search and track trends today, yesterday, last week, or over the last three months.
* The trends graphics display your trendlines and a total trends pie chart (today’s total Buzz break-down).
* “Advanced search” feature is for more targeted topics, as shown below:

trendpedia advanced search
7. BlogPulse from Nielsen – Another Blog Trends Tool

blogpulse for blog trends

BlogPulse is an automated trend discovery system for blogs from Nielsen BuzzMetrics. It has a similar search UI as Trendpedia:

blogpulse

which one is better? I leave that to you to judge.
8. Trendrr – Identify Trends across Social Graphs and Networks

trendrr

You can use Trendrr to track data and identify trends across social graphs and networks, realize the potential of p2p, and track engagement metrics.

What can you Do with Trendrr

* Monitor the popularity of your brands or products
* Track just how many people are favoriting the latest video.
* Compare the popularity of anything.
* Share about interesting data or trends you’ve identified

Trendrr is not only a tool to identify and track trends but also a community for trends fans. The interface is not as simple as Google Trends or Lexicon, but it is indeed a powerful tool for trends research. Find out more about Trendrr here, here, and here.
9. Google Checkout Trends

checkout trends

Google Checkout Trends aggregates the sales data of Google Checkout merchants and charts it in a matter of seconds. See how popular a brand product of a particular product category is, and compare it with a similar product. Getting a feel with this tool about the seasonality of a particular product category is helpful to guide your similar product online marketing efforts.

Ten Things You Don't Know (but should) About the H1N1 Virus

http://michael.silverton.palo-alto.ca.us/sweetcron/items/view/3256

* It could get bad. Really bad. While the Centers for Disease Control calculate that the number of deaths over the next two years could range from 90,000 to several hundred thousand, the World Health Organization believes H1N1 is still in the "early stages" of a new pandemic. They estimate that 2 billion people (one-third of the world's population) could be infected over the next two years.

* Older people are less affected by H1N1 because they've had it - many times. Dr. Peter Palese of Mount Sinai School of Medicine, a Big Think expert, says people over the age of 55 have built up an immunity against swine flu. Why? The viruses that circulated 50 years ago are more closely related to the swine-origin H1N1 viruses than are present day seasonal H1N1 viruses. So exposure to the earlier viruses gives them protection.

* Screening for fevers at airports might be a waste. Unlike SARS, a surprisingly low percentage of H1N1 patients actually suffer from fevers, says Big Think panel expert Barry Bloom of Harvard School of Public Health.

* Contrary to popular belief, the injectable H1N1 vaccine is not a live virus. So says U. Penn's Dr. Neil Fishman. The injection generates an immune response to make the person feel like he has the flu. The nasal vaccine, on the other hand, is a live virus, but the virus is mutated so it can only replicate at lower temperatures (at the front of the nose). Once it makes its way into a persons lungs, it can't replicate.

* The vaccine won't be one prick. Scientists believe the H1N1 vaccine will be most effective if administered in two doses that are three weeks apart. That won't get you out of your regular seasonal vaccine, though, which has to be in a separate dosage. Alternative medicine practitioners are getting in the act. Dr. Arun Bhasme, the vice president of Central Council of Homeopathy in New Delhi, claims that homeopathy can treat H1N1 patients more rapidly than any other vaccine. There are seven to ten drugs (including Glesemicum, Breionia Alba, Aresenicum naplus and Beladona) on the radar.

* Tamiflu might hurt children more than it helps. Researchers at Oxford conducted trials of the treatment, which included 248 infected kids. For children under 12, the side-effects outweighed the benefits. 51% reported side-effects (of those, 31% felt sick, 24% suffered headaches, 21% had stomach aches). Peter Holden, the British Medical Association's H1N1 expert questions the overuse of Tamiflu: "The threshold for getting Tamiflu should be quite high."

* Pregnant women face a dangerous dilemma: they are at the highest risk of becoming ill from swine flu, but nobody in that group will have a chance to test the vaccine. Why? Testing any type of vaccine or drug on pregnant women (and their babies) poses an ethical dilemma - and always has. Dr. Ruth Faden, Executive Director of the Berman Institute of Bioethics at Johns Hopkins, says, "Medicine is flying blind in many cases. Many of the drugs that women take in pregnancy because they're seriously ill, we just have no evidence what the impact is for them or what the impact will be for their babies."

* The best place to go for information? There are tons of websites out there with handy tips, statistics and roundups of - sometimes false - information. For a comprehensive one-stop shop, Dr. Fishman recommends Flu.gov.

You asked him for help of how to get out of here; luckily, he promised.offered his help. You walked through the tube with his guide. Suddenly, a beam from the sun glared on you through a hole. “What a joy it brings has brought to me!” said you excitedly. “Thank you so much. I deeply appreciate for your help.” “Not at all.”
You climbed out through the hole. The view you subsequently saw was a wood formed by bamboos. It seemed that nobody lived here, but it was so quiet that it felt a little strange. After walking along the path, you found a small house finally. “Coh, coh, coh...” (This sounds Chinese) You knocked the door but there was no answer. You tried to open the door, and curiously strangely, the door wasn’t locked. “Anybody here?” said you while walking into the house. The sounds of the piano were transmitting playing; that interested you to see what was happening. While being closer and closer to the room of the piano, you were hit powerfully and you bumped your head against the wall. You passed out.
One hour later, you were woken woke up and you’re roped on a chair. One man in black put a gun at your temple; the other one stood in front of you and asked you a question, “Who are you and why are you here?”
“I didn’t mean to come here. I got lost in this bamboos wood.” “Did you hear any sound?”
“That’s why I came in. I heard somebody play the piano.” “Sorry, you have to die. Shoot!”
“Bang!” You roused suddenly from sleep in the bathtub. It was just a dream.
Weirdly, a bullet from the gun was held in you left hand and the melody of the piano was still in you mind.head You were going to look them into to start your life of a detective.

“Let me take a bath.” You thought.
Though you were taking a bath, actually you were reflecting. “How can I find
where Dr. Floyd is? Wait, he was dead, wasn’t he? But my sixth sense told me...
Anyway, Why don’t I take a comfortable bath first.” Splash! All of a sudden, the
water in the bathtub was all sucked into the pipe, and so were you! You shouted,
“Ahh...”
“Where is it am I ? Help, Help... Did I die again?” “Where is it? Help, Help... Did I die
again?” “Echo? So there must be an exit for me to get out of here.” said you
surprisingly. You walked along the pipe; mice, cockroaches, and spiders bit your feet.
After walking and searching for the exit for a long time, you finally found a beam of
light. While you were fast running toward the light with expectation, not only the light
suddenly disappeared, but also all the other things. You became alone again.
You heard someone’s footsteps coming, but they presently died gradually faded
out as you called for help. “Anybody here? Hello!”
“Meow!” It was just a cat you heard.
“A cat? How did it come here?” You doubted.
“Meow!” It suddenly ran away.
“Cat, wait!” You follow the cat’s footfalls, and finally found a man.
“Thanks God! Sorry, is it your cat?” said you excitedly.
“Actually not. It is my cookie.”
“Cookie? It’s unbelievable. You are kidding, aren’t you?”
“No, I’m not. I am a magician, and I can turn everything into what I want.” He said it
proudly and seriously.
“Wow! Nice to meet you. My name is Prescott.”
“Nice to meet you, too. My name is Fleve.”
“Fleve. Hum... a nice name...”
1. Ask him for help.

2. “Fleve” is an unusual name. I’d better leave now.

You died, and it started to rain! But it was like a miracle; everything
became just like before, everything it was fine. As your soul flew up and
flew out of the cave, you revived in the rain again.

“Where am I? Is here...Oh, I think I am in the real world now.” said
you. you talked to yourself “I’d better go back home now; my feeling
guts tells me there is something mysterious happening !” Suddenly, a
name, Dr. Floyd’s name appeared in your brain mind. “Dr. Floyd, who is
Dr. Floyd?”
“He must be an a very important person. But how can I know him more?”
“Maybe I should surf the Internet.”
(After surfing the Internet and knowing who he is.)
“Now I understand! Dr. Floyd is actually an inventor in a secret
factory. I bit bet he must be planning an evil product. But he will never
succeed because I, who am going to be a detective, will stop him from
controlling the whole world. Dr. Floyd, it is going to be a war between
us!”
1. Try to learn how to be a good detective right now
. □
2. You are so tired that you want to take a bath now.

On your way to the cave, the stranger you met before once again
talked to you. “Never go to the cave again because it will crash!” said he.
You responded, “I can’t trust you. Leave me along!” Then you quickly
ran into the cave.
After a while, you found Dr. Floyd. “Hey, guy! You are wanted, aren’t
you?”
“Wanted? That’s ridiculous. It is you who has been wanted. You request
invite me to your show, locked me up, and now you say I’m wanted. You
are crazy!”
“Crazy...Haha...ha... Yes, I am. Because the cave is going to crash and
no one will find you! B, BONG!”
The people in the cave all died, but there are always miracles in the
stories! Here you can have your own imagination for the end of The Cave
of Time.

“It’s too late for you to escape. You have already been located. Stop,
that’s useless!” said, Dr. Floyd. Suddenly, you thought about the bottle of
water which you drank in the cave. This time you drank it again, but
somehow you felt like you are disappearing.

Ring...ring...ring.......BANG! As you saw have seen, you came back
to the real world again. “What a wonderful world; let’s go back home!”
said you satisfied. satisfyingly.
“Hum, I think watching TV would be a good idea.” When you turned
on the TV, the news was being reported on: There was a guy who went to
the Forbidden Cave, and he is gone now. A reporter is interviewing a man
who is Dr. Floyd. Let’s have a look...... “You have been wanted, don’t
try to hide anymore!”......
“Ah, O... I am wanted. What can I do now?” said you nervously!
1. Try to escape again.

2. How should I be afraid? I’ll return to the cave
!

The Cave of Time
“Hum... The brownies taste really good. I love
them!” said you, “Is there any alcohol inside?”
“Yes, that can make the cookies sweeter.” answered
Dr. Steve.
“But, why do I... feel like...to sleep (sleeping) ...
now?”
After a few hours, you woke up in an unknown place,
bound by the ropes. “Where am I?” said you
interrogatively. “I need to help myself get out of here!”
Unluckily (Without luck), the ropes were so tight that
you can’t loose (loosen) the knot easily. “I think it is a
factory.” “Factory? Is it possible that I was caught by Dr.
Floyd?”
“Yes, you are right. It is me( I )who bound you.” said
Floyd trickily, “Because we want to test our new
invention---X-knot.” You immediately answered, “What?
You requested me to your show, but actually you just
want to test what you are proud of? You are crazy!”
1. Try to escape.

2. It’s doesn’t matter. A nice invention
! □
