3D iPhone Display - i3DG
i3DG, which was exhibited as a Jury Recommended Work at the 14th Japan Media Arts Festival, is a device which enables 3D content to be viewed on the iPhone and Pod touch.
To display pictures in 3D, three images are combined using three half-mirrors. Content is produced in a unique format that divides the screen into three parts.
i3DG uses a different approach from current 3D devices, which emphasize realism in 3D. With this approach, viewers can perceive depth in abstract images using planes and lines, as well as a unique worldview.
Also, because this device makes it easy for anyone to create 3D content for the iPhone, the developers believe it will create a new era where people don't just watch 3D content, but produce it themselves.
